They are nutritionally balanced, use healthy ingredients, are a little cheeky in personality and most importantly they taste great! But they can also be used in a more creative way too, which can be great to beat those naughty cravings…
Our friends at Weigh It Up have been coming up with some healthy winter recipes that include our Slim Secrets products and they just sound so delicious that we had to share them with you!
Gluten Free Cranberry Chocolate Cake
SERVES 20
40g dates, chopped and soaked in 1/3 cup boiling water
100g dark cooking chocolate (for melting, not chips)
1/3 cup coconut oil
½ cup Norbu (natural sweetener)
¾ cup gluten free flour
¼ cup cocoa powder, sifted
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp bicarb soda
2 eggs
1 tbs vanilla extract
2 Slim Secrets ‘Wanted’ Cranberry, Choc ’n Nut Gluten free and less than 100 calories Snack Bar – chopped
Preheat oven to 180°C and line a slice tray with baking paper, spraying any area not covered by paper with oil spray.
Melt chocolate and coconut oil in a small saucepan over low heat.
In a medium sized bowl combine Norbu, flour, cocoa, salt and bicarb.
Blend cooled date mixture (including water), eggs and vanilla until smooth, then pour into the middle of flour mixture, beating to combine.
Add melted chocolate mixture and continue to beat until batter is smooth.
Stir through Slim Secrets pieces and pour into prepared tray.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
Cool slightly before cutting.
It’s also great served warm with Greek yoghurt and berries for divine dessert.
Designer Cookie Breakfast Sundae
SERVES 1
1/3 cup Slim Secrets Designer Cookie with protein and chia crushed up. You can use either the Chocolate Chip or Trail Mix Designer Cookie – they are both delicious with this recipe
3 tbs mixed berries
4 strawberries
1/3 cup strawberry yoghurt
1 banana, thickly sliced
¼ cup granola
Purée mixed berries and place in the bottom of glass, next add yoghurt, then banana slices and granola. Chop strawberries in slices and add them to the glass. Crumble Slim Secrets Designer Cookie and sprinkle on top.
Butterscotch Bliss Cheesecakes
SERVES 4
2 packets Slim Secrets Low Carb, high protein, high fibre Butterscotch Bliss Fit Balls
2 tbs rolled oats
¼ cup buttermilk
½ cup low fat cream cheese
2 tbs honey
2 tsp cornflour
1 egg
seeds from ½ pomegranate
Preheat oven to 180°C and spray four removable base tart tins with oil.
Cut Fit Balls into four and process with oats to a crumb in a food processor. Press crumbs very firmly into the base of tins and bake for 5 minutes.
Blend remaining ingredients in a blender (except pomegranate seeds) and pour onto cooked bases.
Bake 15-20 minutes or until set. Cool in tin and top with pomegranate seeds to serve.
